Subtractive Runemixer
A downloadable game
🔶Currently a demo made for NOISE JAM 2 🔷

Play as CASTER, one of two automatons hailing from the Wiregore Church at the end of all things. They are destined to destroy one another to restart the world's functions, using the power of Runemixing along the way.
Explore the strange technological areas connected to the Church; remnants of a world that once was. Defeat enemies, solve puzzles, try to talk to a girl who wants you dead, and attempt to grapple with these double-edged feelings inside of you.
This is an RPG with a custom battle system. Collect colored Runes in the world and gain the ability to mix them together to create new attacks! You can also use your Runes to block enemy attacks... But your opponents have these abilities as well, so watch their patterns closely.
The demo is comprised of the first 2 dungeons of a planned 3, and can be completed in less than an hour. That said, there is much I would like to change in the first half. I hope you can enjoy this look at my progress.

This game uses MV3D, which may lag on some machines- If you are experiencing lag I recommend going into the options and messing with the Shadow Settings and Render Distance.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION (for Linux users and other issues):
The game is listed as windows-only due to the default Linux port having issues, but it has been tested on Linux using the Windows build! Certain compatibility tools such as Proton or RPGMaker MV for Linux have both been tested and are able to run the game.
If you are able to load the titlescreen but then the game screen stays black upon starting, try turning off the shadows in the 3D options (can be accessed on titlescreen but should also pop up if you wait a few moments and press X or Escape after beginning the game).
If you run into any other problems, feel free to report them here. I can't promise I can fix them all since MV3D is just kind of Like That, but I will try my best.

As a huge fan of your work, I'm SO STOKED to see thissss!!!!!! the atmosphere, colours, character design, everything is just as mindblowing incredible as always! I wasn't bored for a second, cant wait for the third dungeoonnn
Loved what I've played of the demo so far! The world you've made is so mysterious and interesting... the music is great as I expected it would be, but also I wanna say there's some really cool puzzles too! The puzzle on B3 in the first dungeon was really fun and creative... The combat is also really fun! I'm so excited to play the whole thing!
Flagged by Malwarebytes as:
MachineLearning/Anomalous.100%
I'm not sure if the game is actually malicious but I don't trust like that until if/when it's patched.
it’s not uncommon for RPGMaker games to get picked up by antivirus (though this is my first time hearing this about malwarebytes specifically, a cursory glance shows other people getting their games flagged). I don’t think there’s much I can really do about it but I completely understand if you want to pass on playing as a result. Thank you for letting me know regardless!
I really love the world that’s been crafted here. The way the colors infuse so much of the game from the abilities to the enemy designs, it’s really fun to find more and more connections. The puzzles threw me for a loop but I thought they were fair and interesting. The combat felt very strategic too requiring some patience and consideration (esp UEFI). I loved the character designs throughout the game, the bosses were SO fun to look at and the enemies were so interesting and creative. The Runecasters are both really cool and adorable to me. The way they contract each other in almost every facet, it makes me quite certain that the other is the additive runemixer judging from this pattern of contrasts and how she appears brighter than our girl. The themes in the dungeons was also really fun and creative, and having to walk back out after defeating them is quite uncanny and evocative! The whole game has this really epic feeling to it, with the cast of characters and cutscenes, it’s really compelling. I’m very excited to see the final dungeon and see where the story goes!!
(also has no commentary. game is around 21:29)
Again, amazing and interesting work as always, really love the atmosphere and environment of this game. Combat is easy to learn and pick up. Also fun puzzles as well the currently available ones atm. Still this will not be conclusive, as I will wait for the full game to see the yuri end.
