A small update! Hopefully to fix some of the (unintentionally) confusing things in the game, mostly relating to the final chapters. This one contains some spoilers to the game so maybe don't read it if you haven't played yet? Anyway, here's what changed:

  • Fixed the text in a cutscene in Chapter 4 to be clicked through after a slight pause instead of being skipped automatically; No matter what I did it seemed to go too fast for people to accurately read it aloud while ALSO keeping the cutscene's timing, so i think this is the best solution even if I don't like it as much...
  • Made it easier to realize you could speak to a certain character during the second maze segment at the end of Chapter 4. Said character was wider than one tile, and I noticed that players would not interact with the "correct" tile to speak with them, then assumed they had no dialogue. I changed where this interaction tile was and added some blockage so that players could only access said tile.
  • Fixed(?) a bug in Chapter 4 where The Compass wouldn't behave as intended in the first two rooms of the chapter. I'm actually not sure if this was a bug before, but I couldn't find the event that makes this item function while i was looking around in said maps, so I added it just to be safe.
  • Fixed a bug in Chapter 5 where you weren't able to backtrack out of the final room of the game.
  • Fixed a bug in Chapter 5 where attempting to try again after failing the timed segment would leave you unable to open the pause menu. Not sure how I missed this one to be honest.
  • Added a visual hint in Chapter 5 for players who were having trouble getting one of the neutral endings. It's definitely still a bit hard to notice, but I hope this change helps some players along...?
  • Fixed a bug where an Eye sprite in the almost-final room of the game would erroneously reappear after making them go away the first time. If you're loading a save in this room from the previous version of the game, the character will still be there unless you do the interaction with them again.
  • Disabled the ability to access the pause menu in one of the other ending rooms. This wasn't breaking anything but it seemed odd, lol.

To move your save to a new version, just take the Save.rvdata2 file out of the old folder and put it into the new one!
